Ulrika Jonsson slams Victoria Beckham’s diet and says it made her ‘want to weep’

Ulrika Jonsson has taken aim at Victoria Beckham after the former Spice Girls singer revealed her favourite foods.

The fashion designer recently told fans what she orders when she goes out to eat, candidly admitting she was a restaurant’s “worst nightmare” on River Café’s Table 4 podcast.

Victoria told how she is “boring in the food department” and likes to munch on whole-grain toast with salt on it.

She also revealed that when she goes out to eat she will order steamed vegetables.

Ulrika has now reacted to the revelation and confessed that the mum-of-four’s fondness for “simple meals” made her “want to weep”.

“I don’t wish to add to her woes but to hear the ex-Spice Girl talk in a podcast about how she is sure she’s every restaurant’s worst nightmare as she likes simple meals – salt on toast or steamed vegetables – made me want to weep into my fry-up,” Ulrika told The Sun.

She continued: “And to hear that someone in Victoria’s position, who can afford the best food, best produce and best chefs, limits herself to salt on toast feels like a tragic waste.

“The fact Mrs Beckham insists on wholegrain toast, I guess, shows she’s not entirely devoid of a bit of adventure,” Ulrika went on.

On Chef Ruth Rogers’ podcast, Victoria explain that she even steers clear of any butter, oils or sauces as she doesn’t like them.

“This is where I sound even more boring in the food department,” she explained.

Ulrika said the food preferences made her “want to weep”

”I like whole grain toast with salt on it. It’s that carbohydrate that makes you feel comforted and I love salt.

“To most restaurants, I’m probably their worst nightmare. I love some steamed vegetables, some balsamic vinegar and then to season myself,” Victoria said.

“I like things to be cooked in a very simple way. I don’t like oils or butters or sauces.”

The star is known for being very strict with what she eats.

A source previously told Heat magazine that she only plans to lift the ban for a slice of cake on her 50th birthday.

“When she says she hasn’t been near a carb – by which she means a refined one – in ages, she’s not joking.

”It’s a practically banned word for her,” the insider said.
