Adele’s fans were left gobsmacked after a follower posed a very intimate question to the hitmaker on Saturday.
The 33-year-old singer delighted her 40.6 million Instagram followers when she surprised them with a live stream, answering their questions about her new music release next week.
But one fan’s question left her followers shocked, after they asked the mother-of-one what her ‘body count’ is.
A ‘body count’ is a slang term used to describe how many people a person has slept with.
Fans took to Twitter to voice their outrage and shock at the extremely intimate question.
One tweeted: “Wtf someone did not just ask Adele what her body count was.”
“Someone really asked Adele what her body count is, y’all are sick,” echoed another.
Someone else chimed in: “Why did they ask Adele what her body count is? I’m still crying about it.”
“No but what would you really benefit from knowing Adele’s body count?” argued a fourth.
However, the bemused star did not appear to know what the phrase meant, replying: “What’s my body count? What does that mean?”
Adele also used the live stream to send fans into meltdown with a snippet of her new single Easy On Me, which will be released this week.
It is her first new song in six years, and comes ahead of her fourth studio album release next month.
Fans flocked to social media to hype about the track, with comments flooding in about how happy they were to finally hear a sample of Adele’s music.
One fan tweeted: “playing Easy On Me on Live I’m CRYING.”
Another said: “TOPPING THE CHARTS ALREADY.”
While a third penned: “Song of the year already.”
In the same Instagram Live Q&A, Adele gushed about Harry Styles, once again sending her fans into a frenzy as they began speculating on a possible romance between the pair.
One viewer asked her opinion on the former One Direction singer, to which she replied: “Yes I do know Harry. He’s great, he’s lovely, he’s a very very sweet boy.”
