Strictly's Adam Peaty wanted to 'throw in the towel' after gruelling training session

Strictly Come Dancing star Adam Peaty has shared a video of himself screaming in agony as he admits to struggling during his training sessions.

The star who is partnered with dance professional Katya Jones said he had to “throw in the towel” when fell to the ground in crippling pain.

Speaking candidly to his legions of fans on his Instagram story, Adam, 26, reflected on the challenging day he experienced.

Referring to video that Katya posted of himself screaming, he said: “If you can see me on that last story that is me literally at the end of today.

“I had to throw the towel in because I just can’t move my -,” Adam said, before cutting himself off.

He continued: “On a Jive it’s all about the kick, it’s all about the retraction upwards, you want to touch the heel with the bum and I just can’t do that because my leg is refusing to go up.”

“And I know I’m an Olympian, I should be fit, I should be all this. But this is literally like, this is one of the biggest challenges yet in terms of physical challenge.”

Despite the challenges, Adam said he is still enjoying the Strictly experience.

He finished off by saying: “And I’m enjoying it, I’m loving it, of course I am, but it’s extremely, extremely hard, so I’m in the ice bath now trying to get less sore basically, he shared

In the following clip, the star revealed he was wearing a leg compression suit and confessed that he hasn’t used one since in the Olympics.

Dance professional Katya also shared the clip of Adam screaming in pain and captioned the short video: “For those who think that this dancing thing is easy, it ain’t.”

Due to landing in the bottom two alongside Loose Women’s Judi Love last week, Adam admitted that his confidence has wavered.

Appearing on Strictly’s spin-off show, It Takes Two with Katya, the Olympian told presenter Rylan Clarke: “I’m still carrying a bit of baggage from the weekend. It was tough to go to the dance-off because it was so unexpected, I thought you know what, 29, solid.

“But it just shows you like with Rhys last week, no one is safe. I have to find my confidence again now. I do deserve to be here… I think. It’s dancing and I need to breathe.”
