Piers Morgan has slammed Strictly Come Dancing during the live final after millions of fans shed tears over the final dances of the competition.
Viewers up and down the country were left in tears after they watched Rose Ayling-Ellis and John Whaite take to the beloved dance floor for one last time.
Both couples are set to make TV history as they battle it out to take home the glitter ball trophy on Saturday night after 14 long weeks on the BBC One dance competition.
But not everyone was as overwhelmed as many of the viewers watching at home, as the former Britain’s Got Talent judge shared his controversial opinion online.
He wrote: “Tuned into Strictly for the first time in years and everyone’s crying because everyone’s so perfect. Sorry, but…” adding a sick face emoji.
And it didn’t take long before the columnist was flooded with complaints by loyal viewers online.
One fan fumed: @Perhaps if you had paid a bit more attention you will see how the programme has educated people on disability and sexuality.
“Isn’t it nice in these troubled times to actually have something that is so beautiful!”
Another added: “I’ll take watching sop strictly perfection tonight Piers. We are currently living in a world of hate, anger & to be frank it’s s**t.
“It’s taken peoples minds off this pandemic for a couple of hours,” they added.
A third chimed in with: “This year’s strictly final has a lot of meaning behind it. I’m sorry but this tweet is [throwing up emoji] and completely heartless.”
While another fan of the show pointed out: “Feel free to watch a different channel instead of criticising those more talented than you.”
However, he wasn’t entirely alone in his controversial opinion as some viewers agreed with the broadcaster online.
One viewer penned: “I love Strictly but I was thinking the same … too much gushing over each other tonight!”
Another added: “I agree. I’m a fan of #strictly but this is too offing much.”
