Eamonn Holmes says he was 'given no reason' why he was axed from ITV's This Morning

He has recently launched a breakfast show with his former Sky News co-star Isabel Webster on GB News.

And former This Morning presenter Eamonn Holmes has delivered a parting shot to his former bosses at ITV.

The 62-year-old television personality, who used to have a regular hosting slot on the programme alongside his wife Ruth Langsford, 61, announced his departure from This Morning in November.

Speaking to The Times, Eamonn shared that while he wasn’t surprised that he was let go from the show, he was confused as to why there was allegedly no warning.

He explained: “I don’t have any issues with that at all.

“I just have issues with why they can’t tell you your time is up. Just have a conversation, any conversation. I was given no reason why I was blocked.”

Daily Star has contacted ITV for comment.

A spokesperson for the network said at the time: “We would like to wish Eamonn all of the very best in his new role.

“As a duo, Eamonn and Ruth have been part of the This Morning presenting team for the last 15 years and we thank Eamonn for all of his hard work and contribution to the show.”

Eamonn recently hit back at GB News viewers after they speculated as to whether he’d had a facelift.

BelfastLive reported Twitter was ablaze with people speculating as to whether he’d had some cosmetic work after looking fresh-faced on the programme.

One fan speculated: “Just put @GBNEWS on and hardly recognised @eamonnholmes.”

Another fan said: “Has he had a face-lift? I tend to think it’s more noticeable on men and his face definitely looks quite taut….

“His face, his money, just wondering if anyone knew.”

Another viewer said: “Of course we noticed!”

Taking it in good spirits, Eamonn responded with an hilarious joke.

He said: “Both of you… if I did, which I haven’t, I’d want my money back. Should have gone to Specsavers!”

The viewer responded to Eamonn and said: “Well you are definitely looking better than the last time I saw you on TV, so if you haven’t had any work done just take it as a compliment.

“Cheers for taking it in good humour.”
