BBC Breakfast star Dan Walker reacts as Carol Kirkwood's replacement steals show

Dan Walker responded to weatherwoman Carol Kirkwood’s sudden absence from BBC Breakfast as viewers share their concerns online.

During Monday’s instalment of the popular morning show, fans couldn’t help but notice their usual weather reporter was noticeably absent as fellow meteorologist Matt Taylor stepped in for the blonde bombshell.

But fans of the 59-year-old only needed to take to Twitter to see that the show was in great hands as the broadcaster shared the news on his personal account.

The weather presenter was up and at them bright and early this morning as he described himself as Carol’s “stunt double” on the show as he confirmed she would be taking the week off.

As he boasted about his morning gig, he let viewers know that the long-standing starlet would return to their screens next week.

He penned: “I’m @carolkirkwood’s stunt double on @BBCBreakfast all this week. Full forecast for the week coming up between now and 9am.”

And the TV presenter kept the giggles going as he shared a GIF of a man donning a blonde wig to mirror the locks of his stand it on the show.

In the short clip the man was seen swishing his blonde locks around as he dramatically posed for the camera as the user prepared to look as dashing as always for his BBC weather report.

The Strictly Come Dancing star instantly reacted to the hilarious post with his usual less-is-more response which feature nothing more than a grimace and a slew of cry laughing emojis.

This morning the weather reporter had nothing but bad news to bring to viewers at the start of the week as he predicted dark and gloomy weather for Brits up and down the country with bitterly cold temperature set to plumet later on in the week.

At the start of the show he attempted to ease the pain for viewers as he shared photos of the popular Greek holiday island of Mykonos which was buried under layers of snow and ice.

For residents overseas, red weather warnings have been issued as the usual sunspots in Greece prepare to face the extreme conditions still to come.

Meanwhile, Brits continue to shiver through the peak winter weeks while facing “limited amounts of sunshine” restricted to areas such as North Ease England, the Channel Islands and South East Scotland.

It appears as though Matt may continue to be unpopular with fans of the show during Carol’s week off air as he continues to deliver disappointing weather reports to viewers throughout the show over the week.
