Sound City Festival 2022 announces new acts set to join 15th anniversary celebrations

Sound City Festival 2022 has revealed its latest line up – joining the likes of The Lathums, Self Esteem and Yard Act.

The hugely anticipated festival will return to venues across Liverpool between April 30 – May 1 2022, and is described as “the home of new music discovery.”

Music fans can discover some of the biggest upcoming artists, as well as watch headline acts from artists including Alfie Templeman and The Reytons.

They will be joined by a whole host of newly announced acts across the weekend, as the festival prepares to celebrate its 15th anniversary.

Revealed on February 1, the latest artists to join the line up include music icon Tim Burgess, who will share an extraordinary insight into his career with fans at the festival.

Speaking about his return to Liverpool, Tim said: “It’s brilliant that festivals are happening again. A great chance for us to not only play, but to watch some brilliant new artists too.

“And to be heading to Liverpool makes it even better. See you there la.”

He will be joined by pop icons Mae Muller and Baby Queen, with Mae Muller excited to be supporting headliners Self Esteem during the weekend.

Mae said: “So excited to be performing at Sound City!! It’s been way too long since I performed in Liverpool, and to be supporting the queen herself – Self Esteem! I can’t wait.”

Completing the second wave of artist announcements includes Matt Maltese, TV Priest, Brooke Combe, Crawlers, Abby Roberts, Tim Burgess, Kawala, Chili Jesson, Rose Gray and April, plus many more.

Speaking about playing the festival during its 15th anniversary celebrations, Crawlers said they were “Made up to be a part of the 15 year anniversary of Sound City this year!

“Liverpool is our home terf and to be playing a festival full of such great names and the next wave of biggest artists we are grateful, definitely one of our favourite performances of last year and can’t wait to do it again!”

Along with the variety of music performances throughout the weekend, the festival will also host their annual Sound City+ conference on April 29.

The conference brings together hundreds of industry professionals from around the world, as well as inspiring the next generation of musicians and those hoping to work in the industry.
