ITV’s This Morning experienced another show shake-up on Monday after Alison Hammond presented the daytime programme alongside Holly Willoughby.

One social media user penned: “I’m loving the Holly and Alison on this morning.”

Another said: “YAY!!!Alison #ThisMorning”

Although Phil was missing from the studio, he did touch base with Alison and Holly via video link.

When asked how he was feeling, TV veteran Phil assured the two women that he felt absolutely fine.

He explained: “I’m absolutely perfectly ok.

“A week ago I had a slightly scratchy throat for an hour which prompted me to test and it came back positive and it’s been positive ever since,” he joked.

Phil is currently still self-isolating

“But I feel great, I’ve ploughed my way through boxsets. I’ve been cooking, I’ve been wandering around thinking what should I do next.

“I sat in the garden for half an hour because the sun came out.”

Interrupting him, Holly chimed that he may be bored but Phil agreed.

Talking about missing Dancing On Ice for the first time, the presenter said it felt “weird” that he wasn’t hosting the show with Holly.

Phil said: “By the way Hols, it was really really weird but what a brilliant show last night.

Stephen also made an announcement regarding the change too and expressed his excitement to take on the role.

The Catchphrase star said: “I’m very much looking forward to being back hosting alongside my good friend Holly this weekend.

“It’s big shoes to fill and I’m wishing Phillip a speedy recovery.

“I’m a big fan of Dancing on Ice and for one night only I’m thrilled to be rink-side watching the action unfold. It’s going to be unbelievable!”
