First Dates' Fred Sirieix mystery fiancée, wealth and friendship with Gordon Ramsay

Fred Sirieix shot to fame as the maître d’hôtel on the Channel 4 dating show First Dates back in 2013.

The French maître d’ who took on the front of house role in the show in its first series, went on to star in the second series of BBC show, My Million Pound Menu.

Besides his TV career, Fred also works as the general manager of Michelin-starred restaurant Galvin at Windows at the London Hilton.

Fred has had a thriving career on screen and off. The 50-year-old began his career in the food industry at catering college, initially training as a chef before shifting into customer service.

He trained at a Michelin-starred restaurant in France, before moving to London restaurant La Tante Claire, followed by Le Gavroche, Sartoria and Brasserie Roux.

Since then, he has also gone on to become a major TV star – from hosting First Dates Hotel, Teen First Dates, Million Pound Menu, Snackmasters, Step Up to the Plate to appearing on ITV show Gordon, Gino and Fred: Road Trip.

Amidst the pandemic, the hardworking Frenchman even became a millionaire. He owns 75% share of company The Art Of Service Ltd, which interactively trains staff in the hospitality industry.

The company’s finances were boosted to above £1 million in 2020, with a worth of £1,234,358.

He has also recently partnered with Marks & Spencer as their wine ambassador and even designed a board game, Art of Service, which teaches customer service in hotels and restaurants.

Fred has previously dabbled in writing and music, releasing his book First Dates: The Art of Love in 2016, and music track La Vie Continue (Life Goes On), with Level 42 star Mark King and rapper XO MAN in 2015.

Back in 2012, before he became a household name because of First Dates, Fred had launched National Waiters Day, celebrating the work of front of house restaurant staff.

Though never married, father-of-two Fred Sirieix was with long-term partner, Alex, for 12 years. The pair lived together in South London and have two children – Team GB diver Andrea, 17, and Lucien, 12.

Now Fred is with a woman whom he affectionately only refers to as ‘fruitcake’. The pair who regular post pictures together on his Instagram, have been together for at least four years,

Fred spoke to Fabulous magazine about his ideal date with Fruitcake. He said: “Occasionally, I’ll go for a little wine and some tapas after work with my partner, who I like to call ‘fruitcake’.

He added: “It’s nice to have a relaxing conversation and chill out when you’ve had a long day. If I do get the chance to be in the kitchen, I love making fresh pasta. I find rolling it out very therapeutic and I get flour everywhere; it’s great fun.”

In March 2020, the pair announced their engagement, with Fred tweeting: “#fruitcake said yes” followed by love hearts and engagement ring emojis.

The couple were due to get married last year, but have delayed their marriage due to the pandemic. Speaking on Good Morning Britain last July, Fred revealed that they are now aiming for a wedding for this year.

Fred became close with chefs Gordon Ramsay and Gino D’Acampo over the course of travel and food show Gordon Gino and Fred: Road Trip, which originally aired on ITV and ran for three seasons.

The origin of the trio’s friendship is not very clear, but they seem to enjoy spending time together and taking the mick out of one another. All three previously appeared together on an ITV Christmas special back in 2017.
