EastEnders' Ruby Allen star teases TV return after 'bouncing back' post-baby

EastEnders star Louise Lytton has revealed what motherhood has taught her and a potential TV return.

The Ruby Allen actress exited the BBC soap last year while pregnant and hasn’t scheduled her comeback just yet.

Speaking at the W Channel Spring Launch, to celebrate the Channel moving onto Freeview (Channel 25) and Freesat (Channel 156) from Monday, March 28, Ruby shared her thoughts with the Daily Star.

Talking about her daughter Aura and what it’s taught her, she said: “Yeah it’s been good, really good, she’s nearly seven months. It’s what I always dreamed of, we waited a very long time for it.

“At the moment, I’m just trying to get through day by day… I’ve learnt that I’m a lot more patient than I ever thought I would be. it’s given me more confidence as a person obviously, once you can look after a human being, you’re like, well, I can do anything.”

At just seven months post-partum, Louisa, 33, looks incredible, showing no signs of ever carrying a baby on her toned figure.

Talking about how she ‘snapped back’ into shape, she said: “Running around after her – I’ve not really thought about it, this is not something I’ve worked on, I genuinely do not have the time.”

But could she return to Albert Square…

“I’m not sure at the moment everything is still up in the air, I just don’t know, now I’ve had a baby that’s my priority,” Louisa explained.

Talking about the soaps’ star exits this year, which include Danny Dyer and Jake Wood, she said she wasn’t really in the loop anymore.

Louisa continued: “I’m not there now so I don’t know who is coming or going or anything but with all of these shows there is always a massive turnover and it’s always good for the show.”

She also confessed to not watching the soap, and said: “I don’t because I don’t have time to watch TV full stop at the minute.

“I sort of watched it when I first went back to try to get back into the show, as I’d been gone for 15 years. I always watch on Christmas Day though. It’s like tradition.

Explaining why she doesn’t like to see herself onscreen, she added: “I don’t really like it, when you’re there all day and you’ve been filming it’s like you want to go home and switch off.”

However, she did agree that her soap dad Billy Murray, who played Johnny Allen, played a great villain and said perhaps that’s what the show needs more of.

Louisa concluded: “Do they not have any at the moment? Ah, maybe I need to go back then and step into those shoes…”
