Emmerdale viewers were delighted to learn they were right after being convinced that they have solved the mystery around newcomer Suzy’s shady past.
Fans of the hit ITV soap took to Twitter to air their theories after Friday’s (May 20) episode saw the event planner freak out when she saw a picture of Moira Barton’s daughter Holly who tragically died from a heroin overdose in 2016.
Suzy very rapidly made her exit from Moira’s kitchen when she glimpsed the photo and appeared to be shocked at seeing her.
She later had a conversation with Leyla in The Woolpack when she walked in on her checking out Holly’s Facebook page and demanded to know what had happened.
Suzy then told her it was just “morbid curiosity” before confessing that she had been friends with Holly but fell out with her when she gave her money to go and score drugs for them, but she used her half to buy heroin instead of cocaine.
The traumatised newcomer to the Dales then explained how she had brutally told Holly to “take her low life junkie body back to the gutter where it belonged,” and cut off all ties with her because she had taken things too far.
Racked with guilt she then asked Leyla: “What kind of mate does that, just abandon someone?”
Suzy then questioned if she should go and explain to Moira that she had known Holly, but Leyla told her to avoid raising the subject.
Things took a turn for the worse when Suzy then noticed the day Holly had died was September 29 2016 – the last day she had seen her, meaning she had payed for the drugs that ultimately killed her.
Viewers then took to Twitter to admit their joy at being right about the connection.
One wrote: “I knew it. Suzy has only been in #Emmerdale for a month and she’s murdered someone already. Meena would be so proud, hun.”
Another added: “So Suzy did play a part in Hollys death! That will go down well with Leyla!”
A third asked: “What kind of mate gets their mate hooked on drugs though Suzy?”
A fourth viewer noted: “I just knew Suzy was going to have been responsible for Holly dying. Wow.”
