A Twitter user caused a stir as woman after claiming new Love Island contestant Andrew Le Page stole her daughter’s handbag in a Sainsbury’s store.
Andrew, a globetrotting estate agent, who spends his time between his home in Guernsey and Dubai, was announced as a new contestant on the new series after the cast was announced on Monday (May 30).
After the official Love Island Twitter account shared a post introducing Andrew to viewers, the woman made the wild claim in the comment section.
She wrote: “He looks like the man who stole my daughters handbag in Sainsburys.”
She followed up her post by asking Love Island to confirm if he was “in a Sainsbury’s store in Bristol on March 12”.

A pal of Andrew’s then confirmed Andrew was not guilty of the crime, saying: “Sorry to be the bearer of bad news” but “Andrew was in Dubai on March 12,” adding: “It seems your perpetrator is still at large.”
The woman replied: “Ok thanks,” alongside a thumbs up emoji, and then continued to probe, saying: “Are you sure?”
Twitter users found the exchange hilarious and rushed to the comment section to make jokes about it.
One said: “Carol you’re a legend,” alongside a laughing face emoji.

Another wrote: “I appreciate this so much,” alongside a string of laughing face emojis.
When asked in an interview why he’s now decided to go on the hit dating show, he revealed that for him it’s the “best time to give it a go”.
He said: “Because I’m actually single for once, so I thought why not? This is the best time to give it a go.”

Andrew revealed he’s a very loyal person which he believes makes him a catch.
The singleton admitted that when he’s in a relationship he’s a very good boyfriend as he’s “all for them”.
It also looks as though the Love Island contestant has a romantic side to him as he once surprised his ex on a trip to Paris.
