Harry Styles concert cancelled after several people died in nearby shooting

Harry Styles’ gig in Copenhagen has been cancelled following the death of several people at a shooting nearby.

Multiple fans have taken to Twitter to share the news of the cancelled show as they left the venue.

Those who were in attendance of the concert have revealed that they were sent home and escorted out after previously being informed that the show would just be delayed.

The news of the cancellation follows a police update which revealed that several people had died following the shooting in a shopping mall in Denmark, just minutes away from where Harry was due to play.

The concert, due to take place at the Royal Arena in Copenhagen, was shut down.

A spokesperson said: “Tonight’s concert with Harry Styles has been cancelled by direction of the Danish Police.

“We are all truly devastated by the events of today and our thoughts are with the victims and their families.

“We are looking into future possibilities for the show, and hope to be able to give ticket buyers direct information as soon as possible.”

Taking to Twitter, those in attendance wrote of the news online with one user writing: “Last minute update: Harry Styles concert is cancelled in Copenhagen due to shootings in a mall nearby.”

Another said: “Harry Styles Copenhagen is cancelled and they’re escorting us out apparently.”

A third wrote: “Just got off the phone with Royal Arena, I’ve received confirmation that the venue is currently being cleared, and that tonight’s Harry Styles concert is CANCELED.”

Many fans were happy to hear the show had been cancelled and felt it was the right thing to do after the initial decision to delay the concert.

It was previously stated that the show would be pushed back to ensure everybody could get into the venue safely and securely.

Following the shooting Harry wrote a statement on Snapchat as he said: “My team and I pray for everyone involved in the Copenhagen shopping mall shooting. I am shocked. Love H.”

The shooting took place a few hours before Harry’s concert was set to start.

Police warned people to stay away from the shopping centre, with The Mirror reporting that one person has been arrested in connection with the shooting.

Harry was due to perform at 8pm (6pm GMT), at a venue less than a mile from the shooting that happened at a shopping centre.

Harry is currently touring the world with his second concert since leaving the famous boyband One Direction.
