Emmerdale's Victoria star Isabel Hodgins 'heartbroken' after heartbreaking loss

Emmerdale star Isabel Hodgins has revealed her “heart is broken” following the death of her pet dog.

Posting to Instagram on Monday (July 11), the Victoria Sugden actress confirmed that her beloved pet dog of almost 12 years had recently passed away.

Alongside a photo of herself cradling the pooch, Isabel, 28, wrote: “11 years and 11 months of unconditional love.

“He was my everything and my heart is broken but I’m so grateful he was mine.

“To everyone that played a part in his life, thank you so much from the bottom of my heart.

“He was so loved and I know so many people contributed to giving him the best life.”

Quick to comfort Isabel following her dog’s passing were her fellow Emmerdale stars past and present.

Debbie Dingle actress Charley Webb wrote: “The best doggy Mama there ever was.”

Meanwhile, Mandy Dingle actress Lisa Riley replied: “Wow my heart breaks for you. Love and hugs.”

Isabel returned to Emmerdale earlier this year after a brief hiatus from the ITV soap.

Her character Victoria recently endured a rocky patch in her romance with David Metcalfe (Matthew Wolfenden).

The businessman proposed to Victoria following their return to the Dales but she swiftly rejected his grand gesture, leading them to drift apart.

Posting to Instagram in May, Isabel shared some behind-the-scenes snaps of herself and David filming the dramatic soap scenes.

Last month, the actress also wowed fans with a glam Brunch snap.

Emmerdale airs weekdays at 7pm on ITV.
