Strictly may need to censor 'wild' Helen Skelton's 'naughty' language, says co-star

Helen Skelton’s co-star has warned Strictly Come Dancing bosses that they may need censors because she can be “a bit wild”.

It was announced on Saturday (August 13) that the Countryfile star, 39, was the final celebrity confirmed to take place on this year’s series after days of speculation.

Helen’s Summer On The Farm co-presenter Martin Hughes-Games admitted that the BBC show may need to take extra precaution with the former Blue Peter star.

He told The Sun: “Helen’s a bit dodgy to work with. She’s a safe pair of hands but has to be reined in a bit because she has a tendency to be a bit wild.”

He also revealed that Helen had a special editor when they filmed Summer On The Farm who had to monitor her “naughty” language.

The 66-year-old told the publication: “We have someone from Channel 5 compliance, on set in South Yorkshire, who tells her that she mustn’t say too many naughty things. Although of course there’s always the chance that she might.”

“My family and friends have always loved the show and can’t wait for me to get started.”

The announcement comes a few months after Helen announced her split from her husband of nine years, Richie Myler, back in April.

According to The Sun, taking party in Strictly is Helen’s perfect way to “bounce back” following her highly public breakup.

A source told the publication: “It’s the perfect way to bounce back. Most people are absolutely desperate to avoid the Strictly curse, but Helen would love it to give her some confidence back.”
