Gary Barlow worries fans as he offers health update on wife after ‘big operation’

Gary Barlow had fans fretting for him and wife Dawn Andrews after a distressing health update.

The Take That star confirmed that Dawn had to undergo a “big operation” and is in “a lot of pain”.

Taking to Twitter to keep fans in the know, the Greatest Day vocalist said: “In other news – Mrs B broke her wrist 4 weeks ago. On Friday she had a big operation – she’s in a lot of pain but on the mend.

“Juggling real life this week with the blessing of being in the West End… it never rains!”

Gary is currently taking his show A Different Stage on a tour across the country to promote his new book along with music and intimate speeches to his audiences.

Fans rushed to the comments section to wish Dawn well, with one writing: “Hope Dawn feels better very soon – sending our love!”

Another gushed: “Sending love to Dawn. Hope she makes a quick recovery. If I could give you a hug I would do! You’ve got this Barlow!”

While a third wrote: “Poor Mrs B, wishing her a speedy recovery! I loved your show last night. I didn’t know what to expect but as always you never disappointed!

“You are one amazing, talented person who has been to hell and back but you still have a smile and a song in your heart!”

It comes after Gary opened up about the tragic stillbirth of his baby girl while on tour.

His fourth child with Dawn sadly died in August 2012, with Gary discussing the ordeal in detail, admitting he “lived a lifetime in a second” upon hearing the devastating news.

He said: “It’s August 2012, Dawn has gone for a last minute check-up. Only four days to go, we’re all so excited. Name is on the nursery, Moses basket, cot, clothes all over the floor waiting for the main player to arrive.

“Dawn calls and something’s wrong. Now this is one of those phone calls where you live a lifetime in a second.”

He said the experience gave him “perspective” despite leading to destructive coping mechanisms at the time, telling fans: “This guy has got the gift of Poppy Barlow, the gift of perspective. I’d never had that before. A real lesson into what’s important.”
