Susanna Reid replaced on GMB's Sunday special after emotional 7 hour queue to see Queen

Susanna Reid has been replaced on Sunday’s instalment of Good Morning Britain.

The brunette broadcaster has been quite a constant presence on the ITV show in recent days, as coverage of the Queen’s death and the queue to see the late monarch lying in state continues.

But she got to have a break – and probably a much-needed lie in – on Sunday.

Like many daytime shows, GMB has been through some changes after the Queen passed away, and this weekend it returned for an episode on Sunday.

However, instead of Susanna, Kate Garraway was presenting the special show with Adil Ray.

Susanna’s day off comes after an emotional week in which she queued for more than seven hours for the Queen’s lying in state.

The TV star, 51, lined up along with her mum to pay her respects at Westminster Hall.

She tweeted several times about what it was like, sharing her tips with the queue with her followers.

Susanna’s advice included taking along loo roll and making sure to wear comfortable shoes to make pounding the pavements for hours a little easier on the feet.

She advised: “The first part of the queue is for wristbands. Ours were given out at Tower Bridge about an hour after we began queuing. There is no queue jumping – people waited patiently for wristbands and once you have one you can leave the queue for snacks/loo stops & slip back in.”

“Don’t carry too much in a bag – water is freely available and there are lots of cafes along the route,” she said in another post.

Susanna said that once she and her mum got into the hall where the coffin is resting, it was “worth every minute” of the long line.
