Strictly's Giovanni leaves fans concerned he'll quit show after 'awkward' interview

Strictly Come Dancing fans are concerned Giovanni Pernice will quit the BBC show.

The professional dancer, 32, and his celebrity partner Richie Anderson got the boot from the dance competition last weekend.

They both appeared on spin-off show It Takes Two on Monday (October 10) to discuss their experience.

Giovanni and Richie opened up to host Rylan Clark about losing the dance-off to Fleur East and her partner Vito Coppola.

However, viewers quickly spotted “tension” between the pair.

Taking to Twitter, one fan penned: “This is absolutely the most awkward #ItTakesTwo interview ever.”

Another added: “The tension is off the scale. Awkward between Richie and Gio.”

A third person posted: “I get the impression Gio and Richie didn’t get on much.”

The conversation continued online when the show ended, with some wondering if Giovanni was set to leave Strictly.

One Strictly fan wrote: “Catching up on It Takes Two and i’m very disappointed in Gio’s reaction tonight.

“He won last year an epic competition, no one can deny, but this year he had a complete non-dancer, someone who was hilarious and who for me stole the show and for whom this experience was amazing.

“So why did Gio seem just a teeny bit disinterested? This is what Strictly is and it is the pro’s job to do everything they can do to teach the celeb, very often with zero knowledge of dancing.

“Maybe I am reading more into this than I should, but I am disappointed and if, as is rumoured, Gio leaves, then I’ll be sad.”

Another said: “I sincerely hope he doesn’t leave Strictly won’t be the same without him!”

A third person penned: “How many pros have left within a year or two of winning the glitterball? Their shows become even faster sell outs and the merch can sustain them for a long time.”
