Emmerdale star Rebecca Sarker first appeared on the ITV soap as Dr Manpreet in July 2018.

The 47-year-old’s character took centre stage a few years later following the arrival of her younger sister, Meena Jutla (Paige Sandhu) who went on to murder several village residents.

After being held hostage by her serial killer sibling, she was able to escape but wound up in a coma after being hit by a car with Charles Anderson (Kevin Mathurin) behind the wheel.

She survived the horror crash and went on to testify against Meena, after which she was sentenced to life in prison.
