Countryfile star Adam Henson has issued a health update from his hospital bed after undergoing major hip surgery.
The 56-year-old farmer and TV presenter spoke directly to fans on the latest episode of the show, explaining that he has been suffering in pain for a while and that this Autumn had been a particularly painful one.
He continued by revealing his hip problems started to affect his everyday life before a clip showed Adam in his hospital bed just after the intense and painful surgery.

He said: “It’s now been pretty much 12 hours since I had my hip resurfacing operation.
“The feeling in my legs and waist have all come back now, pretty much my right leg, which is the leg I had done, is still a bit tingly and a bit weird.”
He added: “I’ve never really had surgery quite like this before, it does make me feel for all those people that have gone through things an awful lot worse.”
He went on to share that the recovery was a lot more painful and slower than he imagined but he was ‘very lucky’ to have a great team behind him on the farm.
“I’m very lucky to have a strong team on the farm who can do all the work. In three or four weeks’ time, hopefully, I’ll be back out and about,” he said from his home.
Viewers were recently left angry after a pig farming segment on the show showed overcrowded pens that fans described as “disgusting.”
As the farmer showed viewers where his 7,000 pigs were kept altogether, some viewers were left angered by the conditions the pigs were kept in, and many took to social media to discuss their thoughts.
One raging viewer wrote: “Pretty disgusting to see you showing pig farmers with 7,000 pigs kept in sheds and chicken farms with 28,000 hens.”

Another disappointed viewer added: “Expected better of you supporting this type of farming. Shame on you #Countryfile.”
A third penned: “100% agree about the pig farming, no life at all for those poor creatures stuck indoors all their days. Switched off!!! #Countryfile.”
A fourth fumed: “perhaps your pig farmer wouldn’t need to cool his pigs if he let them out to enjoy their lives instead of abusing them. Their pork would taste better as well.”
Elsewhere in the episode Adam Henson revealed who will be crowned Countryfile Young Countryside Champion of the Year at the BBC Food and Farming awards.
