Bob Dylan has been ‘offered’ a part in Coronation Street, after the musician revealed that he “binge-watches” the iconic ITV soap.
The singer-songwriter recently revealed during an interview with The Wall Street Journal that Coronation Street is one of his favourite programmes to watch.
During a discussion about his TV habits, Bob made the surprising revelation, saying: “I’ve binge watched Coronation Street, Father Brown, and some early Twilight Zones.

“I know they’re old-fashioned shows, but they make me feel at home.”
He continued: “I’m not a fan of packaged programs, or news shows, so I don’t watch them.”
Following the comments, Coronation Street boss Iain MacLeod has extended an invitation for the musician to appear in the soap, saying that he “loves” the idea of Bob turning up on the cobbles.
Speaking to The Daily Telegraph, Iain said: “We would absolutely love the idea of him turning up in the Rovers Return one night.
“Maybe we could write in an open mic night and a mysterious singer could roll in out of the Manchester rain and do a turn.
“Both he and Coronation Street established their reputations in the 1960s, both have championed working class voices and causes, both tell stories with a particular sensibility and sense of humour.”
If Bob were to turn up on the cobbles, he would not be the first to do so.
Celebrities including Sir Cliff Richard and Cheryl Tweedy have popped up at the Rovers Return, while popstars Kym Marsh and Keith Duffy both landed regular roles as Michelle Connor and Ciaran McCarthy.
Meanwhile, rock legends Status Quo famously appeared in the soap for more than one week, with a storyline centered around them playing at Les Battersby’s wedding.
Speaking exclusively to Daily Star earlier this year, Status Quo’s Francis Rossi recalled that appearing in the soap was a great experience and that he has huge admiration for the cast.
“It wasn’t until I got there, and watched them in the morning. Everyone is there at the same time. Everyone is reading their scripts. Rick and I were taken around the street, and we were watching these two people act,” said Francis.
“Then suddenly, they do a couple of run throughs and we were watching television.”
He added: “That’s what I found when I first did Corrie, that blimey these people know what to do.”
“Some of the smash up scenes they did, with me and Battersby’s wife. They have a fight scene and they have to be careful not to wreck the set too much, because they have to put the set back together and wreck it again.”
Francis continued: “It was a great learning curve, great people to be with.”
