Our Yorkshire Farm's Amanda Owen caught in Christmas disaster as power cut hits farm

Amanda Owen faced a major Christmas disaster at the weekend when her farm was left without any water or electricity.

The 48-year-old told her loyal fans that it ‘wouldn’t be Christmas’ without the mishap – but luckily her son saved the day.

Amanda, who shot to fame on Our Yorkshire Farm, often keeps her followers updated on life at Ravenseat farm.

However, the Channel 5 star, who shares nine children with estranged husband Clive, has revealed how her festive celebrations didn’t run too smoothly.

On Boxing Day, Amanda uploaded stunning snaps of her farm land completely covered in snow.

Writing to her 207.5k followers, she penned: “Snow arrived a day late for it to be an official white Christmas.

“Super cold but a rather more pleasant than the vicious wind and driving rain that blighted us on Christmas Day.”

However, the family’s Christmas was almost ruined after they suffered a power cut on Christmas eve.

Taking to Twitter, Amanda wrote: “It just wouldn’t be Christmas without there being either no water or no electricity.

“*Cue everyone to stare despondently into a hole in the ground. * Apart from Reuben who is in his element.”

The shepherdess posted snaps of her son helping to dig up dirt to try and gain access to the water and electricity cables underground.

Other pictures showed the whole family in the mid and rain trying to restore their home’s water and electricity.

Plenty of Amanda’s followers took to the reply section to praise the family, especially Reuben.

“Goodness me, you really do have a challenging life. Glad Reuben is able to help,” one fan wrote.
