Emmerdale bad boy Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) was released from prison during the latest instalment of the ITV soap.
He was freed as his son Kyle Winchester (Huey Quinn) was taken away to an authority children’s home after confessing to killing Al Chapman.
The 10-year-old lad shot Al dead in November last year and Cain has been in prison since trying to protect his boy.

Over Christmas, a guilt-ridden Kyle ran went missing from home and was found by PC Swirling.
Amy Wyatt (Natalie Ann Jamieson) and Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb) managed to convince the police officer that Kyle was lying about killing Al and just wanted his dad home.
But later, at the police station, Kyle confessed to murder after speaking to his uncle Caleb Milligan (William Ash), who made his first appearance on Christmas Day and was soon offering to help the family’s case.
As Cain returned to the village, he shared a steamy kiss with wife Moira, leaving viewers distracted.
Taking to Twitter, one fan penned: “Was there a bit of tongue action then between Moira and Cain.”
Another added: “Oi oi Moira and Cain.”
A third person posted: “Cain comforting Moira was all I needed”
“Someone gif that Cain and Moira scene for me right effing now,” someone else typed.
While a fourth exciting social media user said: “Moira and Cain should have had reunion sex in the mud. It’s what everyone wants.”
Cain’s long-lost brother Caleb has essentially taken control of the Dingle family by promising his high-priced lawyers can protect them.
The Dingles headed to The Woolpack to celebrate Cain’s return and they encouraged him to thank Caleb for helping him be released from jail.
As Cain hugged his sibling he warned him that he better leave the Dales or the next time he’ll seen him he’d be “dead”.
Fans will have to wait and see if Caleb listens to Cain’s demands or is there more Dingle on the way.
Emmerdale airs weekdays on ITV1 at 7.30pm
