Love Island's Curtis Pritchard blasts bombshell Tom Clare with ‘dry chat’ claim

Former Love Island star Curtis Pritchard took a not-so-subtle swipe at 2023 islander Tom Clare when he claimed the semi-pro footballer had “dry” chat.

Curtis, who came fourth place alongside his ex Maura Higgins on Love Island 2019, spilled his brutally honest opinion on this year’s winter castmates – and he didn’t hold back when it came to sporty Tom.

The latest winter edition of Love Island kicked off on Monday night (January 16) and introduced Tom as the first bombshell of the series, tasking him with stealing a girl of his choice from an existing couple.

But it appears Curtis isn’t too impressed with the hunk and it shows in his recent chat with Made In Chelsea star Sam Thompson and Love Island 2022 star Indiyah Polak on their Morning After podcast.

Indiyah asked: “Do we ship Tom and Olivia?”

Curtis replied: “I sort of do actually, in a way, to be fair. I thought he may have gone for Lana [Jenkins]. I thought that might have been the route.”

When Sam asked him why he thought Tom was opting for Lana, Curtis explained: “I thought he had the most chat with Lana.”

But he suggested his conversational skills could use some tuning up when he added: “But I’m not gonna lie, his chat is a little bit dry.”

Sam agreed: “Yeah,” before Curtis leapt to Tom’s defence in saying: “It’s early days, maybe he’s a bit nervous.

“He knows he’s got all the power so maybe he’s trying to get the girls to chat to him.”

Indiayah also weighed in on Tom and Olivia’s partnership, saying she didn’t see a connection between them.

She said: “Do you know what? I don’t really see the connection. I don’t really understand it.”

Curtis added: “She’s a fiery character,” as Indiyah went on: “She’s a lovely girl. I think she has a great personality but I just don’t really see these two in that way.”
