Vanessa Feltz say she's 'broken hearted' but 'won't let love split defeat her'

Vanessa Feltz has said she is “broken hearted” but “full of resolve” after confirming her split from her partner of 16 years Ben Ofoedu.

The star returned to Instagram after a three-week break to confirm her split and speak on it, assuring fans that she was moving “onwards and upwards”.

The television icon, 60, said: “Well I haven’t been on Instagram for three weeks and that’s because my relationship with Ben is over after 16 years and I honestly didn’t know what to say to you on Instagram.

“But now it’s clear that it’s over and I really do feel that once the trust in a relationship is gone you can’t really get it back and that’s what I would tell anyone else to do.”

She went on: “I just wanted to say, obviously I feel incredibly sad and I’m pretty disappointed and shocked and all those horrible things.

“But also full of resolve because I’m not gonna let this defeat me.”

The agony aunt continued: “I’m so glad to be living longer than my mum did, she died at 57 and I’m gonna be 61 next month, so I feel very, very grateful to be alive and I want to carry on feeling that way, and I want to celebrate and I want to find fun and laughter anywhere I can.

“I know it’s not gonna be easy but I’m absolutely determined to do it and thank you very, very much indeed for all the wonderful good wishes you’ve been sending me.

“I really, really appreciate it.”

It was reported on Saturday (February 4) that Phats & Small singer Ben had moved out of their multi-million pound North London home after Vanessa discovered he had been unfaithful.

Vanessa confirmed the reports of the split, telling The Sun that she thought it “might take a bit longer before this came out”.

The This Morning regular reportedly discovered a string of emails and social media messages containing “several infidelities”.
