TikTok's GK Barry confesses she 'signed up for Love Island' but was turned down

Podcast and TikTok favourite GK Barry confirmed she tried to go on Love Island.

The social media sensation is now best known for hosting her own podcast with various guests including Love Island stars, Gogglebox stars and even the likes of Wayne Lineker.

But her career could have been very different as the confessed she tried to go on the popular ITV2 dating show after Georgia Harrison asked her if she’d ever given it a go.

Georgia was brought on the podcast to talk about her life ranging from TOWIE, Love Island to her new documentary Revenge Porn: Georgia vs Bear .

As the TV star talked about her career with Grace, they spoke in depth about Love Island, with Grace telling Georgia that she would “hate” to do Casa Amor.

She told the TV star: “You went in to a terrifying group of people. You had Amber, Olivia Attwood, they had very big personalities and you just walked in and went ‘Kem’.”

Georgia laughed as Grace followed up by asking if she was scouted for the show.

Georgia said: “Look, you know how hard it is to get on there Grace, you have tried right?”

She immediately chirped back: “Yeah! We’ve all f*****g tried, yeah,” prompting Georgia to respond: “Given it your best shot!”

The TV star confirmed that she didn’t get on it the first time she applied, but after trying for the second time she managed to get on – but found out the same morning she was due to fly.

Georgia explained: “You’re at home the whole time, I was the last bombshell and I had loads of summer stuff in my living room and I just hoped I’d go on.

“I hoped I wouldn’t have to pay for things at PLT! Just dreaming you know.”

She added: “They rang me at 8am and I was at work and they were like, ‘we need you to get on a plane at 5pm.'”

Georgia explained that her boss was incredibly understanding and supportive, but added they asked Georgia to “delete LinkedIn” before heading on the show.
