Barbara – who played Peggy Mitchell on the BBC soap opera – was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease back in 2014. And six years later, she sadly died in 2020, aged 83.
And on Tuesday (April 4) Nadia shared an update on her training as she flaunted the results of impressive weight loss.
In a post uploaded to her Instagram Story, Nadia donned a rather red face after having gone on a run.
“Just a quick hello from beetroot face,” she joked.
“I know you enjoyed my redness so I just thought I’d show you this morning that my face is a completely different colour to my neck. I haven’t put any makeup on.”
Natalie added: “I went for a very short by fast run. Feeling good. And yeah, happy Tuesday!”
In 2019, the soap star previously took part in the London Marathon and she was understood to have lost three stone at the time.
Natalie undertook an impressive training regime which not only helped her complete the marathon but also helped her shift the pounds.
Natalie told Twitter at the time she had run 18 miles in one day alone.
Speaking on the podcast RunPod, Natalie credited her running group with keeping her motivated.
She said: “We’ve suddenly become this little team of people and we’re so close.
“We’ve got WhatsApp groups and we go out together and we post our runs and it gives you motivation.”
Natalie has played the role of Sonia for 30 years, with her starting out in the soap at just nine years of age.
She is currently embroiled in a romantic storyline where she can be seen flirting with new love interest Reiss Colwell, the great-nephew of Dot Cotton.
