‘Highly sexed’ Jack Nicholson ‘put cocaine on todger to boost bonking performance’

Emerging from his $10million mansion onto a balcony last week, Jack Nicholson was seen in public for the first time in two years.

But while the screen legend appeared in good health just a few days before his 86th birthday, he’s no longer the Hollywood hellraiser.

The Shining star, who today celebrated another year around the sun on April 22, hasn’t acted for several years and now lives a seemingly reclusive life in Beverly Hills, even prompting friends to express concern that he’ll “die alone”.

In his heyday, though, things were quite different.

Renowned for injecting intensity into performances in films such as One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest and ChinaTown, he also had a reputation for womanising and throwing the wildest drug-fuelled parties in Tinsel Town.

Screen siren Kim Basinger once described Nicholson as “the most highly sexed individual I have ever met”.

And according to biographer Marc Eliot, the actor liked to combine two of his favourite things – drugs and sex – by dabbing cocaine on his penis to make him last longer in bed and improve his partners’ experience.

It was apparently inspired by another of Hollywood’s leading men.

Eliot wrote: “By following what he’d heard about Errol Flynn, he learned that by putting a dab on the tip of his manhood, he could last longer, and, because of the way women reacted to that, he also believed it intensified the sensations for them.”

Nicholson’s Los Angeles home became known as “the wildest house in Hollywood”, according to Eliot.

In his tell-all memoir, Nicholson, the author described the parties, writing: “There was round-the-clock partying, drinks, drugs, sex, lots of tea (of the smoking kind), and beautiful, hot, willing girls who loved to get just as high as the boys and have a good time.

“The refrigerator never had any food in it. Just milk (for Jack’s sometimes sensitive stomach), beer, and pot in the freezer to keep it fresh.”

Eliot claimed Nicholson kept both “upstairs and downstairs cocaine” at his home. The upstairs supply was “just for himself, the VIP stash reserved for best friends and especially beautiful women.”

Addressing the upstairs and downstairs cocaine tale, actress Anjelica Huston, who dated Nicholson for 17 years, told Vulture in 2019: “I don’t know that that’s a true story.

“But there was a type of cocaine in the ’70s that I would’ve classified as upstairs cocaine — pharmaceutical flake — that was kind of effervescent, not that it was fizzy, but it was light and uncut.”

When asked whether Nicholson was a “functional cocaine user,” Huston added: “Very much so. Never took overt amounts, he was never a guzzler. I think Jack sort of used it, probably like Freud did, in a rather smart way.

“Jack always had a bit of a problem with physical lethargy. He was tired, and I think probably, at a certain age, a little bump would cheer him up. Like espresso.”

Nicholson has been open about his drug use, revealing in 1980 that he still loved “to get high” on cannabis “about four days a week”.

He added: “I think that is average for an American… I don’t advocate anything for anybody. But I choose always to be candid because I don’t like the closet atmosphere of drugging.”

In more recent times, the actor has suggested life is much less wild.

After entering his 60s, his infamous sex drive apparently took a hit. He told Newsweek in 2002: “I don’t have the same libido.”

“It used to be that I didn’t think I could go to sleep if I wasn’t involved in some kind of amorous contact or another.

“Well, I spend a lot of time sleeping alone these days. That’s different. And very liberating.”

While Nicholson’s womanising may have come to an end, he later admitted he still holds out hope for finding love again.

He told Closer in 2015: “I would love that one last romance but I’m not very realistic about it happening. What I can’t deny is my yearning.”

“I’m definitely still wild at heart, but I’ve struck biogravity. I can’t hit on women in public any more. I didn’t decide this; it just doesn’t feel right at my age.”

Nicholson’s last acting credit came in 2010 with the rom-com How Do You Know and since then he’s largely remained out of the spotlight.

Earlier this year, close friends revealed they were concerned about his reclusive ways.

“He’s made it clear his home is his castle. But people just wish he’d come out of the house and pop up to tell them how — or at least reassure folks he’s OK,” an insider told Radar Online.

They revealed he still speaks to his son, but lives a secluded life, adding: “Jack’s in touch with certain relatives — especially Ray, his protégé, who he’s so proud of — but his socialising days are long gone.”
