Rochelle Humes shows support for This Morning’s Phillip Schofield after ITV ‘tribute’

Presenter Rochelle Humes has shown her support for former This Morning presenter Phillip Schofield after he’s stepped down from the ITV show.

The Saturdays singer has previously co-hosted episodes of This Morning alongside Phil, who presented the show for 21 years until he announced his exit on Saturday (May 20).

As This Morning addressed his exit on Monday’s show, Rochelle shared a series of snaps from her time on the show alongside Phil as she penned a message of support for the star.

Mum of three Rochelle wrote on her Instagram Stories: “I’ve proudly been a part of the This Morning family for almost 10 years and over the last few, it has been an absolutely pleasure learning so much from you.

“Thanks for all the lessons – you’re a fountain of love, knowledge and laughter.”

In the three snaps shared with the touching message, Rochelle and Phil could be seen in stitches and goofing around on the This Morning set.

The message came after ITV presenters Dermot O’Leary and Alison Hammond paid tribute to Phil and his long standing presenting role on This Morning.

Rochelle called Phil “a fountain of love, knowledge and laughter”

On Saturday, Phil announced that he and ITV had reached a decision for him to step down from the programme. In a statement, he said: “I have always been proud to cover fascinating stories on This Morning. But recently, This Morning itself has become the story.

“Throughout my career in TV – including the very difficult last few days – I have always done my best to be honourable and kind.

“I understand that ITV has decided the current situation can’t go on, and I want to do what I can to protect the show that I love.

Phillip announced he’s stepped down from This Morning on Saturday (20 May)

“So I have agreed to step down from This Morning with immediate effect, in the hope that the show can move forward to a bright future.

“I’d like to thank everyone who has supported me – especially This Morning’s amazing viewers – and I’ll see you all for the Soap Awards next month.”

This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV.
