A visitor who attended the Emmerdale set recently has claimed to have found a top-secret script in a bin while on an organised tour.
According to reports, the private documents exposed storylines for upcoming scenes, leaving ITV vowing to “get to the bottom of this”.
While on the set tour last month – which is believed to have cost £35 – visitors were informed that the bins could be used as normal as they were not props.

But one attendee, who requested not to be named, spotted the top secret files when they disposed of a bottle.

The person told The Sun on Sunday: “It was a normal black bin on the set behind where the props for Chloe Harris’s house are.
“I just went to put a plastic bottle in and all of a sudden I saw the scripts, so I snapped a photo of them.
“The idea that such a famous production would leave scripts just lying around like that really is shocking, especially when in the wrong hands it could be used for other, more sinister reasons.”
According to the visitor, watermarks on the scripts were marked as “confidential” material belonging to a member of staff.
The scripts gave further details to the developments in the storyline involving entrepreneur Jai Sharma (Chris Bisson) and dad Rishi (Bhasker Patel).
In addition to this, other documents found on set at the Harewood Estate near Leeds include a floor map of the Emmerdale village’s buildings.
This included arrows detailing the location of cameras and floor managers.
ITV told The Sun that they will try their best to get to the bottom of what is going on and that they are aware their “audience don’t like knowing plotlines in advance”.
In the last few weeks, Emmerdale viewers discovered that Rishi is not Jai biological father.
Since then, fans have been left guessing who Jai’s real father is- with some thinking it could be Rishi’s brother.
Taking to Twitter, one avid watcher previously wrote: “I bet Jai’s biological dad isn’t just some one night stand but a relative of Rishi’s – brother or cousin?”
Emmerdale continues on weekdays on ITV1 from 7.30pm or on catch-up on ITVX
