The Chase fans all share same complaint as Melvin Odoom handed ‘ridiculous’ question

The Chase viewers were left fuming on Saturday night (August 5) as they reckoned radio host Melvin Odoom was given a “ridiculous” question.

The popular ITV gameshow, hosted by Bradley Walsh, was back for its celebrity spin-off with Carl Fogarty, former EastEnders star Bonnie Langford, and British gymnast Louis Smith also hoping to win big.

But viewers noticed something odd with Melvin’s first question when faced with chaser Anne Hegerty.

The question read: “What is the name of a person who takes care of a lighthouse?”

With the answer being a lighthouse keeper, fans complained that the questions on the celeb version were far too easy compared to the ones given to normal contestants.

Heading over to Twitter, fans aired their greviances.

One viewer wrote: “I love the Chase but God they go sooooo easy on these celebs as if they are thick as s**t. A five-year-old could have guessed that.”

Another penned: “What a ridiculously easy question!!! I suppose it is for charity so it’s all good though.”

While a third said: “OMG imagine if Melvin had of guessed that wrong lol. Imagine he said lighthouse occupier haha.”

Some fans of the show also seemed to think that chaser Anne was unimpressed with how simple the question was as she remained completely silent when host Bradley called out her correct response.

“Anne is MAD,” one viewer joked on Twitter. Another ITV viewer joked: “I think Anne just wildly guessed that and got it right.”

However, although fans complained that things were seemingly too easy for the celeb contestants, the team ended up struggling.

Following Melvin’s victory, former motorcycle racer Carl didn’t manage to make it to the final as he was caught by chaser Anne.

Louis also received the same fate and was caught by Anne too.

In the final, Melvin and Bonnie managed to secure £16,000 but they only managed to answer 12 questions quickly between, giving the chaser plenty of room to beat them with seconds to spare.
