Amy Winehouse ripped into her performance at the 2008 BRIT Awards in a hilarious unearthed video.
The late singer, who would have turned 40 on Thursday (September 14), branded her performance a “piece of sh**t” during an interview with Denise van Outen.
Fellow singer Denise was trying her best to encourage Amy in the now-viral clip, which has been posted by meme accounts such as Love of Huns on Instagram.

Talented Amy had just sung Love is a Losing Game at the award show, which took place at London’s Earl’s Court at the time, when Denise approached her backstage.
Denise, who was interviewing artists on the evening, asked: “How was your performance this evening? Did you enjoy it?”
Amy said she’d had fun but didn’t rate her rendition, replying: “Yeah I enjoyed it. It was a bit sh*t though.”
In an attempt to lift her spirits, Denise replied: “Don’t be so hard on yourself. The crowd absolutely loved it. We’re thrilled that you’re here tonight.

“Everyone’s so pleased that you’re here back and fighting fit.”
The TV presenter asked the singer: “So why are you self-critical of your performance?”, to which Amy replied: “It was a piece of sh*t.”
But while the popstar was clearly disappointed with herself, she was quick to compliment Denise’s outfit as she said: “You look fit though.”
And a rather taken aback Denise burst out laughing as she replied: “Thank you.”
Amy had won five Grammy Awards just weeks before and had won British Female Solo Artist at the BRITs the previous year.
This comes after the release of In Her Words, a book containing Amy’s memoirs, lyrics and family photographs, was released.
