BBC EastEnders star swoons over I’m A Celeb’s Danielle Harold after romance rumours

Jamie Borthwick and Danielle Harold sparked romance rumours before heading in the I’m A Celebrity Jungle – and he’s making sure to stand behind her as she faces challenges.

The duo played beloved couple Jay and Lola on EastEnders before Danielle’s character died after battling a brain tumour in a gut-wrenching storyline. However, despite leaving the show earlier this year, the pair have continued to catch up.

And now Jamie has shown Danielle he’s behind her as he posted an Instagram Story watching her on the show. Danielle was in the middle of her challenge when Jamie snapped a photo of her covering her ears as she was walking through mucky water.

Alongside the snap he wrote: “I can’t wait to recycle this on your birthday [laughing emojis]. Absolutely smashing it babe keep going!!!”

Jamie’s support for Danielle comes weeks after they went out on a “date night”. The pair had been seeing one another a lot at various award shows following her exit from the BBC One soap.

Danielle addressed the relationship rumours last month, but failed to squash them. Speaking to Fabulous Magazine, she said: “I’m just going to leave that one out there, because it’s soo funny. It makes me laugh so much, I’d hate to squash it!”

She added: “I always say Jamie is the husband I never wanted or asked for, but nonetheless got.” However she did add there is “no one like that” at the moment because of how jam-packed her schedule has been.

Danielle also expressed her gratitude for her busy schedule, adding that having no time is something to feel “really lucky about”. Despite wrapping up her time on EastEnders in her final scenes on May 31 2023, her schedule hasn’t slowed down.

The actress landed two awards this year including the National Television Award for Outstanding Serial Drama Performance and The British Soap Award for Best Leading Performer. While her next TV gig is yet to be confirmed, she has appeared on celebrity reality shows including Celebrity Hunted and I’m A Celeb.
