ITV The Chase viewers share same complaint as Bradley Walsh comments on player

The Chase fans were left feeling rather frustrated after presenter Bradley Walsh said his famous catchphrase.

Fans were glued to their screens on Monday (January 1) as they tuned in to the brand new series of the ITV show. Excited to see what was in store, the popular quizzing programme failed to disappoint.

But although fans were buzzing to see a new team take on the infamous chaser, for one player, things were not going to plan. Contestant number three, Sean got off to a rocky start in his cashbuilder.

Sean managed to only get one question right during the first round. But host Bradley was confident in Sean and insisted “he’s a better player than that”.

Fans were not best pleased with Bradley Walsh on The Chase

Despite his support, Bradley’s famous phrase left fans at home annoyed as they complained that Sean wasn’t doing too well. Heading over to X formerly known as Twitter, viewers aired their grievances.

One social media user said: “Love it when they say … ‘You’re better than that’. He’s really not.”

Another fan exclaimed: “NO! SEAN is NOT a ‘better player than that!’ He got a £1000 in the cashbuilder. #TheChase If he gets through to the final chase it will be on guesses!”

Sean’s performance was the talk of the town

A third agreed: “If he was a better player he would have got more.” And a fourth viewer pointed out: “If he was a ‘better player than that’, he would have more than a grand.”

And although Sean put on a confident display, things didn’t seem to improve when faced with Jenny The Vixen Ryan. In the second round, Sean got a series of questions wrong and just like earlier before, he only managed to answer one question correctly.

Sean answered one question corretly

With things not going great, Sean was eventually caught by the chaser and was sent home prematurely. But considering his attempts, fans at home thought it would have been better if Sean did go for the lower minus offer.

Taking to X again, one viewer said: “Sean ffs. That was appalling. Should have took the minus and car crash them answers son.” While another joked: “Surely Sean, as an Everton fan, should have taken the minus ten offer?”
