Dancing on Ice star Ryan Thomas has revealed the real reason why he signed up to the figure skating competition – and it’s not to make it to the final.
This weekend, the Celebrity Big Brother star is set to take to the ice for the first time with his professional skating partner Amani Fancy. He will be joined by S Club singer Hannah Spearritt and Emmerdale star Roxy Shahidi on the ITV show.
Also taking to the ice will be boxer Ricky Hatton, Olympian Greg Rutherford and former Love Island star Amber Davies. Next week, the final six skaters will take to the rink to show off their impressive skills in front of the star-studded judging panel.

Returning to the panel is head judges Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean alongside professional dancers Oti Mabuse and Ashley Banjo. Also returning to the show is Holly Willoughby following her break from entertainment TV following her exit from This Morning.
She will be reunited with her close pal and TV presenter Stephen Mulhern who will be taking over hosting duties from Phillip Schofield. Ahead of the opening show, the dad-of-two has opened up about his main ambitions when it comes to beating the rest of his contestants on the show.
In an interview with Daily Star and other press, the 39-year-old actor confessed that he aims to stay in the competition longer than his brother Adam Thomas made it on Strictly Come Dancing last year. The Waterloo Road star made it to the eighth week of the competition before he was booted out in a dance off against TV presenter Angela Rippon.
He told us: “We’re all very supportive of each other but along with that comes some brotherly banter, and I have to do better than both my brothers on any show that they do. So the object of the game is to beat Adam!
“As long as I get further along [in the competition] than Adam did on his show, then I’m happy. But we are super supportive and he can’t wait.”
Ryan went on to add that he didn’t even invite his brother Adam to the opening show of the competition. The actor confessed: “I didn’t even invite him to my first show, he invited himself.
“I just didn’t want to let it go under the radar. I just wanted to enjoy it on my own and now the whole family are coming along!”
Despite their friendly competitiveness, the TV star shared how supportive his brothers have been to him since he started training and equally how supportive he has been to them in return. He went on: “Do you know what? I remember being with my brother all the way through his process on his show and there was a daily conversation of support.
“So he’s now having to be my support and he’s going to be there on my first show along with my other brother. It’s a family affair.”
