A former Lizzie McGuire writer lifted the lid on Hilary Duff’s steamy scene involving two romps in a night in a proposed reboot that never was – and fans feel “robbed”.
Jonathan Hurwitz spilled the juicy detail on a four-part TikTok series about Lizzie’s very naughty antics with another key character from the noughties Disney Channel show. And one scene involved the 36-year-old’s character waking up after a night of passionate love-making with her middle school crush, Ethan Craft.
Despite the first two episodes of the series being shot and written nearly two decades after the show first aired, it was axed before it could stream on Disney+ back in December 2022 over Hilary and the platform having contract disputes. But it didn’t stop hoards of nostalgic millennials swooning as Jonathan outlined the plot of the show.

After Lizzie moves back from New York as her handsome chef boyfriend cheated on her, she would get an unlikely massage from her childhood sweetheart. Clayton Synder’s character, Ethan, would drop her a cheeky text, “and animated Lizzie faints,” the writer explained in his clip.

The start of episode three, which had not actually been filmed, was going to have a very spicy intro. Lizzie would wake up in Ethan’s bed with her animated doppelganger popping up on screening, and crossing Clayton’s character off her ‘to-do’ list.
While the writer didn’t allude to the star being up the duff, he did add another steamy detail.

“She checks it off and says something like, ‘Well, checked that box.’ Dramatic pause. ‘Twice,’” Jonathan said.
Fans had mixed emotions as they were left excited yet furious, with one TikTok user writing: “We were robbed of ETHAN CRAFT.” Another agreed: “The way Disney really deprived us of this reboot we deserved.”
Jonathan conceded that the scene might have been a bit mature for a Disney audience.

Later in the video, the writer revealed something only Lizzie McGuire fanatics could only dream of: Lizzie and her best pal Gordo, played by Adam Lamberg, reuniting.
