Hannah Spearritt says she’s relieved to be out of Dancing On Ice ‘in one piece’

Hannah Spearritt has admitted she is glad to be out of Dancing On Ice “in one piece”.

The S Club 7 star was eliminated from the ITV ice-skating show at the weekend, becoming the second celeb to leave the rink after boxer Ricky Hatton. The show is known for contestants getting bumps and bruises from falls, and during an appearance on This Morning, Hannah confessed she was just happy that she hadn’t got hurt.

“I am kind of glad that I am out of it in one piece,” she said.

“It was amazing to learn that skill and yes, it is completely dangerous,” she went on. “Anything can go wrong.”

The star, 42, said that something didn’t go quite to plan shortly before she and her pro partner Andy Buchanan took to the ice at the weekend. “I had something that went wrong three hours before!” she revealed.

“It just reminds you that anything can go wrong at any time. It is just a lot to think about it with every move, to make it go right.”

Hannah has recently opened up about dealing with an autoimmune condition, which has caused her to suffer symptoms such as fatigue and vertigo.

She told This Morning hosts Rylan and Rochelle Humes that it did affect her when she was a contestant on the ice-skating show. “It had a massive impact on the start, especially,” said the S Club star.

“I felt like I had really come into my own in the last two weeks. I have been in solid in terms of feeling good every day. There was a lot of ups and downs and then the last two weeks have been solid.” “I am grateful to have had that sort of exercise on a daily basis because I feel so much stronger for it,” she added.

The singer, who has two young daughters, also said that she would like to keep up with the skating. “I am!” she told Rylan, after he quizzed her about whether she would be taking to the ice again. “I want to teach my eldest,” she explained.
