Coronation Street star Lucy Fallon ‘matched £100k wage on Instagram away from ITV soap’

Coronation Street stunner Lucy Fallon reportedly made just as much money on Instagram as she does filming on the ITV1 soap.

Being part of the longest-running show helped catapult mum-of-one’s profile into the spotlight when she joined the show back in 2015. Since she became a regular face on the famous cobbles, her following on Instagram has risen, with the actress now boasting an impressive 550,000 followers online.

As her character Bethany Platt continues to fall head over heels for former flame Daniel Osbourne, Daily Star has taken a look back at what the blonde bombshell was earning away from the show. During her first stint on the programme, which stretched across five-years, the soap siren allegedly earnt £100,000 a year from TV bosses.

In 2020, the 28-year-old decided to take a step back from the show to pursue other opportunities. In that time, it is understood that Lucy negotiated advertising deals with small businesses to promote their products to her hundreds of thousands of followers on Instagram.

According to The Sun, these deals could have seen her earning around £2,000 per post, reportedly matched her earnings from her former soap bosses. But rather than putting in a day’s work at the ITV studios, Lucy could get her jaw-dropping pay check for just 10 minutes work in posting the advert.

After leaving the show, the actress was snapped up to plug products for fashion company InTheStyle in addition to a luxury bedding business. At the time, there was concern that by posting too many ads, Lucy may have “diluted her appeal” to her followers.

An industry insider told The Sun: “The trick is turning down things as well as saying yes. She doesn’t want to agree to everything because the bigger firms will run a mile if she starts doing teeth whitening ads or ones for food supplements.

“That way the money can go on quite dramatically and she could be left scrambling for £150 like a desperate former reality star. She only needs to be snapped with a product once a week and post the pictures and she’s on the same cash ITV were paying her – only for a few minutes’ work.”

Previously, Coronation Street bosses used to ban their stars from endorsing products on social media, but things changed after several big names left the soap. Now, staff are free to promote products on their personal accounts without needing to get the approval of TV executives.

And it appears as though her hard work paid off, with the TV star going from strength to strength during her three-year stint away from the soap. In that time, the actress welcomed her adorable little boy Sonny Jude with her boyfriend Ryan Ledson.
