Taylor Swift and Olivia Rodrigo appear to have put a rumours of a feud to bed in a show of solidarity at the 2024 Grammys Awards.
The pair were previously said to be at loggerheads following claims 34-year old Taylor and her collaborator Jack Antonoff had asked for 50% of the songwriting credits and royalties for Olivia’s Sour track, 1 step forward, 3 steps back – owing to similarities to Taylor’s New Years Day. Taylor and Jack are also credited on Olivia’s monster hit, Deja Vu, meanwhile, for its interpolation of the former’s Cruel Summer.
There appeared to be no bad blood on Sunday evening, however, as Taylor stood up to dance to Olivia’s performance of Vampire at the ceremony. Then, as 20-year old Olivia closed her performance, Taylor was seen applauding her before throwing her arms in the air in delight.

Former Disney star Olivia later returned the show of support by cheering Taylor as she accepted her award for Best Pop Vocal Album for Midnights – and made the shock announcement that it’s secret follow-up – The Tortured Poets Department – will be released in April.
Prior to the bash, US outlet Page Six had reported that seating arrangements had been organised to ensure there could be no awkwardness between the pop duo. They explained: “They’re both huge stars, so they’ll both be in the front row – but I can’t see them being too close together.”
Olivia previously addressed speculation concerning a rift with her “hero” as she told Rolling Stone in September: “I don’t have beef with anyone. I’m very chill. I keep to myself. I have my four friends and my mom, and that’s really the only people I talk to, ever. There’s nothing to say. There’s so many Twitter conspiracy theories. I only look at alien-conspiracy theories.”
And in 2021 she told SiriusXM that Taylor had sent her a handwritten letter and gift following the release of her debut album. She revealed at the time: “Actually, last night, like literally like 12 hours ago, I got a package from her with this like handwritten note. She gave me this ring because she said she wore one just like it when she wrote Red and she wanted me to have one like it and I, and like all of this amazing stuff, she’s like hand-wrapped these gifts.
Olivia continued: “I feel so lucky that I just like was born at the right time to be able to look up to somebody like her. I think she’s incredible. All of her support and like genuine, like compassion and excitement for me is just been so, so surreal.”

Taylor also made GRAMMY history on the night, breaking the record for most Album of the Year wins by any artist. In addition to Midnights, she also scooped the same award for Folklore in 2021, 1989 in 2016 and Fearless in 2010.
The superstar saw off stiff competition from Olivia, Miley Cyrus, Lana Del Rey, SZA, Janelle Monae, Boygenius and Jon Batiste.
