Love Island winner Ekin-Su will join Celebrity Big Brother days after Davide split

Love Island winner Ekin-Su Culculoglu is set to enter the Celebrity Big Brother house after her split from Davide Sanclimenti.

She’s likely to be joined by Gary Goldsmith, uncle of the Princess of Wales, who’s rumoured to be in talks for a big deal. Goldsmith, the younger brother of Kate’s mum, Carole Middleton, is sure to stir up some controversy. When the show returns on ITV2 in March, Ekin-Su will also be living with Strictly judge Shirley Ballas, ex-TOWIE star Joey Essex and former X Factor judge Louis Walsh.

Ekin-Su, 29, shot to fame in 2022 when she and Italian hunk Davide won Love Island. The pair stayed together, apart from one brief break-up, until last week when Ekin-Su announced their 18-month romance was over.

She explained: “The last 18 months have been a rollercoaster of ups and downs, just like every relationship. Davide and I both wanted to make this relationship work as we cared deeply for each other. Unfortunately, I have recently made the decision to end our relationship and to go our separate ways.” She also said: “Breakups are never easy for any couple. I enjoyed our time together and will cherish the memories we made.”

Last year, she turned heads on Dancing on Ice with her sparkly, thong jumpsuit during her first skate to Britney Spears’ Toxic. The outfit, which was a nod to Britney’s iconic video look, caused a stir and led to 112 complaints to Ofcom, with viewers saying it was too much for a Sunday evening family show.

At that time, the commentator said: “If you were wondering if Ekin-Su could bring any Love Island sass to the ice – then there is your answer!” But later, she confessed the backlash had upset her. “I was very upset,” she admitted back then. “I had negative feedback, which saddened me. I’m not going to lie after all that happened, I was crying a lot. I went home, I cried in Davide’s arms.”

Ekin-Su, despite donning more modest outfits for her later performances, was the third star to be booted off the show. Celebrity Big Brother, last seen on Channel 5 in 2018, is set to return next month on ITV2 with a fresh look. The revamped show, hosted by AJ Odudu and Will Best, will be broadcast from a new house at Garden Studios, West London, following the regular version which kicked off in autumn. An ITV spokesperson chose not to comment on “speculation” about the CBB line-up.
