Fern Britton announced in 2020 that she and husband Phil Vickery have split after “20 happy years” together.
The former This Morning presenter told the world that they have called time on their marriage on her official Twitter account, by sharing the statement: “After more than 20 happy years together, Phil and I have decided to go our separate ways.
“We will always share a great friendship and our lovely children. We would appreciate it if our privacy is respected at this time. Thank you for your continued kindness and support.”

Fern first gained fame when she presented Ready Steady Cook from 1994 until 2000, before she went on to host This Morning between 1999 and 2009 where she hosted alongside John Leslie and later Phillip Schofield.
She was first married to Clive Jones and went on to have three children together, twins Jack and Harry, and daughter Grace. They wed in November 1988 in Southsea but the couple separated in January 1998. A year later, she began dating celebrity chef Phil after they met on the set of This Morning.
Once her divorce from Clive was finalised, she married Phil in the spring of 2000 and went on to have one child together, a daughter called Winnie. The pair lived in Buckinghamshire and had “20 happy years together” before they announced their split. The news has come as a shock to the pair’s fans after Fern gave many cheery interviews over the years about their marriage.
In 2018 she told Hello! magazine the “secret” to a happy marriage, she said: “We let each other do our own thing. “I never question him. I am not one of those wives who is constantly sending texts all day long asking where he is, and he doesn’t do that to me either. “We are very gentle with each other in that sense.”
Fern is currently living in the Celebrity Big Brother house and has been caught on camera saying she is “not looking for love”. Fans were convinced she took a swipe at ex Phil while bursting into song. She sang the lyrics, “I’ve got a life, I’ve got a life…. thank God I’m nobody’s wife!” in a bid to cheer herself up after receiving the news that she will face this week’s eviction alongside Louis Walsh and Lauren Simon.
