Netflix’s Chicken Nugget branded ‘weirdest show ever’ as fans baffled by series

Netflix’s new comedy series Chicken Nugget has left viewers totally baffled.

The show recently landed on the streaming platform, which has described it as: “A woman steps into an odd machine and becomes…a chicken nugget?! Now, it’s up to her father and admirer to embark on a zany quest to bring her back.”

Netflix’s official trailer begins with a clip of Min-ah as a literal chicken nugget after stepping into a huge purple machine that changed her physical form entirely. Min-ah’s father attempts to save her while one guy, who is interested in the main character, is seen wiping down her chicken nugget head.

In Korean subtitles, the show is described as a “crispy fried comedy” as scenes show the characters riding on bikes, being struck by lightning and working together to find a cure for Min-ah’s ailment.

One person posted: “Next on the list of [K dramas] to watch…a girl who becomes a chicken nugget. [Netflix], wtf is this? [laughing emojis].” Someone else called the series “bizarre” while another X user said: “[…] I found a Korean TV show on Netflix called Chicken Nugget and it’s about a guy who likes a girl and she gets turned into a chicken nugget. I’m laughing so hard.”

Someone else used the Chicken Nugget hashtag and wrote: “I don’t even know what the actual hell was this show, but I do hope everyone involved got a fat Netflix check, they earned it.” Other people said they were “crying laughing,” some wrote that they thought it was “fun and weird” while other people simply added “wtf”.

The internet seems completely divided by the hilarious series as one person said they “somehow totally get it and totally don’t,” while someone else actually branded it a “bad idea”. Chicken Nugget, a 12 part series, has also been hailed as the “surrealist comedy of the century,” so seems like we’ll have to make up our own minds.
