Ant McPartlin forced to issue apology moments into epic final of Saturday Night Takeaway

Ant McPartlin was forced to issue an apology to viewers just moments in the jam-packed Saturday Night Takeaway final.

The Geordie duo returned for one last time on Saturday (April 13), for their two-hour epic final show after 20 series on the silver screen. The pair vowed to throw “the party to end all parties” to polish off the last-ever episode.

They brought back their beloved segment Ring My Bell. The comedy double act recruited three audience members and their neighbours in a round of cheeky antics for the TV special.

For the final time, Declan Donnelly asked the three contestants from Nottingham, Gateshead, and Stevenage to bring a hat, a duvet, and a wheelie bin the fastest to win a paid-for holiday overseas. As the trio raced back to their homes to bring the required items, one contestant named Tom accidentally swore on air.

The hunk from Nottingham was the first player to get back to the property with the three items, but he nearly lost it all when he forgot to ring the doorbell and say the secret password. Ant screamed: “Ring the bell, ring the bell!” as Tom muttered: “Oh s**t under his breath”.

Next to take the silver medal was a gentleman from Stevenage before one woman took the final spot. Ant then issued an apology for the player’s foul language, fuming: “Apologies for the language there Nottingham, that was a bit fruity for Saturday night.”

The pair then awarded the first and second team a holiday abroad for winning the game. Luckily, Ant was able to twist Dec’s arm and also awarded the contestant from Gateshead a holiday seeing as it was the final episode.

Fans immediately flooded to X to share the chaos that unfolded on the show. One user penned: “Naughty Ben swearing. Ring My Bell.”

Another agreed: “Apologising for swearing then they crack a joke about his helmet being on show! Brilliant!” Following this, Ant unfortunately sustained a bloody injury live on air during the jam-packed finale episode after a football joke went wrong.
