Hollywood legend Al Pacino nearly died when his pulse stopped.
The 84-year-old actor, famed for his roles in iconic films like Heat and The Godfather, recalled the moment paramedics rushed into his home to save him after he contracted Covid. The film legend recalled the horrifying near-death experience in 2020.
The screen veteran explained he noticed he was starting to feel “unusually not good.” He said he had a fever and was dehydrated, before things took a disastrous turn for the worse. He told the publication: “I was sitting there in my house, and I was gone, reports the Mirror.

He told The New York Times: “Like that. I didn’t have a pulse. In a matter of minutes they were there – the ambulance in front of my house. I had about six paramedics in that living room, and there were two doctors, and they had these outfits on that looked like they were from outer space or something.”

“It was kind of shocking to open your eyes and see that. Everybody was around me, and they said: ‘He’s back. He’s here’.” The actor, who welcomed the arrival of his latest child last year with girlfriend Noor Alfallah, 30, said he was told that his “pulse was gone.”
Al Pacino added: “They said my pulse was gone. It was so – you’re here, you’re not. I thought: ‘Wow, you don’t even have your memories. You have nothing. Strange porridge’.”

He believes that his baby boy named Roman added to “a campaign for me to stick around a little longer, if it’s possible.” And speaking to People magazine recently he went on to question whether his near death experience was as near as he previously thought.
He explained: “I thought I experienced death. I might not have. I don’t think I have, really. I know I made it. I don’t think I died. Everybody thought I was dead. How could I be dead? If I was dead, I fainted. So, I couldn’t have died because how did all those people gather together, the ambulance in front of my house?

Al Pacino caused controversy when he presented the Best Actor award at this year’s Oscars after he announced the winner without mentioning the nominees. Despite being in his early eighties, he is still acting and his latest film Modi, Three Days On The Wing Of Madness, premiered at the San Sebastian Film Festival, last week. And his memoir Sonny Boy, is due for release later this month.
