Deal Or No Deal star Stephen Mulhern halted the show tonight, as things took an emotional turn after an audience member was brought to tears.
During Monday’s episode of the ITV hit series, host Stephen was back on our TV screens for yet another nail-biting show as one lucky player was hoping to walk away with a big win.
This time, it was midwife Paisley in the hot seat to have a go at the ultimate game of fate and face the infamous banker head-on.
At first, things got off to a good start with 1p being opened in the early boxes but things took a shocking turn when the grand prize of £100,000 was taken out.
Paisley remained positive and declined the bankers’ offers. Towards the end of the game, there were five boxes remaining – 10p, 50p, £10, £50,000 and £75,000.
The banker made an offer of £16,750 and it was clear that Paisley was not going to take the risk and took the offer. Keen to collect the cash prize, she said: “Thank you very much Mr Banker… because I’m going to be rich! Deal!” When questioned how she was going to spend her winnings she explained that she wanted to take her parents on a cruise.
The moment left one audience member emotional and Stephen paused the show and pointed out: “This is absolutely joyous.”
He then turned to Paisley and said: “Sorry but can I just say, I’ve never seen this on anyone’s game and I hope you don’t mind me pointing you out but this gentleman in the back crying on your behalf. It’s amazing.”
Paisley turned to the man and asked: “Aw do you want a hug?” Everyone was left feeling emotional as the pair shared a sweet hug.
The phone started ringing and Stephen pointed out: “Oh no the banker is not going to be happy.” Stephen revealed: “He just told me that you’re his least favourite contestant and I wonder why?”
Everyone burst out laughing as Stephen explained that she made the right decision taking his previous offer as he said: “Paisley this gets better and better for you because you’re off on a cruise, making a dream come true for you and your family. This wouldn’t even buy you a dingy because your offer at this point would be £3.”
Deal Or No Deal continues on weekdays at 4pm on ITV and ITV X.
