Quincy Jones’ comments about P Diddy have resurfaced.
Jones, a legendary music producer who sadly died on 3 November, previously made a dig at Diddy – real name Sean Combs – at a Spotify launch even back in June 2012.
According to a Huffington Post article from the time, Jones quipped that the rapper “couldn’t recognise a B flat” note. The publication wrote: “Instead, Jones noted: ‘P Diddy has a doctorate in marketing,’ citing his clothing labels and success with Ciroc (his vodka company) as the rapper’s true talents.”

Daily Mail reported that the American record producer’s comments garnered him a lot of attention, so Quincy took to Facebook to write: “No controversy, no diss. I have nothing by love and respect for Diddy and all that he has achieved as an artist and an executive. Always have and always will.”
Jones sadly died on 3 November at his family home in Bel Air, Los Angeles. It has been reported that no cause of death was given when the news was announced.
His loved ones released a statement: “Tonight, with full but broken hearts, we must share the news of our father and brother Quincy Jones’ passing. And although this is an incredible loss for our family, we celebrate the great life that he lived and know there will never be another like him.”
Quincy’s final Instagram post wished his daughter Martina a happy birthday. The producer wrote a heart-warming caption: “Happy Birthday to my Tina Beena! So proud to be yo papa! Big hug, I love you eternally.”
Jones was also father to actress Rashida Jones, known for her roles as Karen Filipelli in The Office, Louisa Fenn in Boston Public and Ann Perkins in Parks and Recreation.
Quincy’s comment about P Diddy have resurfaced in light of the rapper’s recent scandal. Combs was arrested on 16 September and charged with sex trafficking, racketeering and transportation to engage in prostitution, all of which he “categorically denies”.
