Ruth Langsford ‘can’t be bothered’ to date after Eamonn Holmes split, says pal

Vanessa Feltz has said she isn’t sure her friend Ruth Langsford “can be bothered” to date following the end of her marriage.

Loose Women regular Ruth split from husband Eamonn Holmes this year after 14 years of marriage, with a spokesperson confirming the couple’s marriage was “over” and that “they are in the process of divorcing”. So far there is no sign of Ruth dating anyone new and now Vanessa, her old pal from This Morning, has suggested that romance may not be on the cards right now.

Vanessa, who is also single after breaking up with long-term love Ben Ofoedu last year, spilled as she launched her new book Vanessa Bares All. According to MailOnline, she was asked if Ruth would be her “wing woman” now but replied: “I don’t know if either of us can be bothered.”

She went on: “We’d probably rather go out together and have a laugh and leave men out of it.”

Vanessa did try to meet someone new after her relationship with Ben ended, and signed up for TV show Celebs Go Dating. However, she didn’t end up meeting her Mr Right on the show despite a string of dates.

The presenter had been with Ben for around 16 years when they split. And she has previously admitted that she doesn’t find dating easy.

The pair share son Jack

“I think dating is damn difficult, I really do, and obviously I haven’t done it for 17 years,” she said on This Morning last year. “It is not easy and actually when it’s not going well it’s like wading through treacle, it’s terribly difficult.”

Asked whether she has any plans to get back into dating, Vanessa told MailOnline she didn’t know. “I’m trying my best, just put it that way,” she said. “I’ve dip-toed in the field and we’ll see what happens.”

Ruth and GB News star Eamonn first fell for each other and got together in the late 90s and they went on to tie the knot in 2010. The pair share an adult son, Jack, who is 22, and Eamonn also has three other children from a former marriage – Declan, 35, Rebecca, 32, and Niall, who is 30.
