Oasis rockstar Liam Gallagher has claimed the “Strike the Right Chord for Animals Award” after rescuing a homeless pooch and flying her 6,000 miles to her fur-ever home
Oasis rocker Liam Gallagher has won an award for adopting an abandoned dog from Thailand and flying her to his home to see out the rest of her days.
The singer has been handed PETA’s prestigious “Strike the Right Chord for Animals Award” after adopting an “amazing” mutt-in-need, named Buttons.
The homeless pooch previously wandered the dangerous jungle land of Thailand after her owners ditched her for not being “pretty enough”.

But Britpop legend Liam saw the dog’s inner beauty and paid to fly her back to his UK home while also raising £25,000 for the Thai animal charity that made the adoption possible.
He worked with the Happy Doggo sanctuary to fly Buttons nearly 6,000 miles to her fur-ever home with him and since then says the pooch has changed the way he sees the world.
The Oasis frontman said on an appearance of The Jonathan Ross show: “I don’t want to go on tour no more”, after saying he had fallen in love with the dog, adding: “I want to stay home now.”
He said yesterday: “Rescuing Buttons has been the best decision we’ve ever made.
“She brings so much happiness to our lives and everyone she meets.
“We’re so lucky to have her. We’re obsessed.
“I thoroughly recommend adopting a homeless dog.”
And now PETA has paid tribute to the star for saving an animal in need instead of opting for purchasing a posh pedigree.
PETA Vice President of Programmes Elisa Allen said: “This compassionate act for animals sets a wonderful example for his legions of fans.
“PETA is delighted to recognise him for opening his heart and home to a dog who desperately needed a loving family, and PETA urges everyone to follow suit and adopt, never shop.”
Liam received a heartfelt letter of thanks and a certificate for winning the award.
