Danny Jones has apologised to his wife after his alleged drunken kiss with Maura Higgins at a BRIT Awards afterparty.
The McFly star, who has been married to Georgia Horsley since 2014, appeared to kiss Maura at Universal’s BRITs afterparty earlier this month. Footage from The Sun seemed to show the pair kissing briefly at the bash, held at 180 Studios on the Strand in London.
Then a second clip emerged, apparently showing Danny and his former I’m A Celeb campmate Maura partying at London’s posh Nobu Hotel until the early hours. Neither Danny or Maura had addressed the rumoured kiss – or former Miss England Georgia, the mother of Danny’s seven-year-old son Cooper.
But Danny finally spoke about the incident on Friday (March 14) when he took to his Instagram story with a statement. He said he ‘deeply apologises to his wife and family’ for putting them in the spotlight over the last week and told followers that they’ll continue to deal with the matter “privately”.

The statement read: “Hello everyone, sorry it’s taken me a while to post this but I’ve taken some time out to be with those closest to me. I want to deeply apologise to my wife and family for putting them in this situation.
“I love them so much and we’ll continue to deal with this privately. I love you guys, thank you for your patience, understanding, and support. See you all soon, Danny.”

Danny and Georgia were spotted out on a walk in Richmond, south London, earlier this week. The pair, who had not been seen in public since the alleged kiss, grabbed coffee and chatted.
It was reported the pair were having “crisis talks” in a bid to save their marriage. A source claimed to the Mirror that Danny’s alleged behaviour has been a “slap in the face” to her.
Footage of the kiss, reportedly taken just before 3am, seemed to show Maura and Danny standing in a foyer at Universal’s party before their faces get very close. A source claimed: “Danny and Maura seemed to be having a great time.

“They looked like they had a brief drunken kiss. Danny and Maura seem to have a close friendship after meeting in the jungle. They were talking and laughing for ages.”
Sources claim the pair partied the night away at the Nobu Hotel, where they allegedly knocked back wine until 4am before leaving together at 6am. Onlookers claimed Danny and Maura were cosying up to one another for hours before the alleged kiss – the pair were also spotted at Sony Music’s afterparty.

Danny and Georgia met in 2009 at a Miss London event and tied the knot in 2014 in Georgia’s hometown of Old Malton in North Yokrshire. The rocker popped the question during a romantic holiday in Cyprus.
Georgia recently discussed her relationship with Danny on a podcast, saying they didn’t get on at first. She admitted: “He was a bit of a d*ck, and I didn’t really like him.” She said he spent the next year trying to win her over.
“He tried for a year,” she said. “I do like to drop that into conversation every now and again. He wanted me for a year. I said no. I was totally chilled when we went on the date.”
“I didn’t really want to. My mum went, ‘Oh darling, what have you got to lose? Go on, go and enjoy yourself.'” She added: “I said he’s probably going to be a bit of a top sh***er, isn’t he. I just assumed. I treated him mean, kept him keen – without realising. I didn’t know I was doing that.”
