Stormzy's ex Maya Jama shares cryptic post about 'controlling people' in savage jibe

Maya Jama has taken to her official Instagram to publicly share a cryptic post about not letting people “control you”.

The 25-year-old, who split from rapper Stormzy in August last year, faced a public breakup with the singer even releasing a song dedicated to her.

Stormzy penned the ballad Lessons about their split and even names Maya in the song when he sings about the children in his family “missing aunty Maya”.

Taking to her Instagram stories, Maya shared the cryptic post to her staggering 1.5million.

Sharing the print screen of a quote it centred around not letting “people control you” and the radio presenter even added some words of her own.

It read: “Do what makes you feel alive.

“Your destiny is to develop your sense of strength and power. No one should tell you what to do, stand in your way, or control the terms of your life.

“It’s important for you to create your own rules.

“Even if you don’t relate to your intensity, you’re meant to prioritise your own experience and be driven by your passions.”

“If something doesn’t excite you, then it’s not for you.”

Maya then wrote over the print screen of the quote: “Oh really.”

The radio presenter then continued by sharing another cryptic quote, which read: “Your power can be overwhelming for some people – what’s natural for you can seem like too much for others.

“At times, even if you don’t say a word, your dominance and strength are felt and understood.

“There’s just an aura about you.”

Stormzy and Maya split last August after being in a relationship for four years after they started dating in January 2015.

The pair first met back in October 2014 but called time on their relationship last year.
